After picking you up
from San Diego International Airport, we take you 70 miles south
of the US/Mexico border to the seaport town of Ensenada. This is
where you will stay for your first night. Ensenada has a unique
nightlife with its many shops and restaurants and the infamous Hussong's
Cantina Bar, which was built in the late 1880's. You may want to
grab an early night, as we have an early start the next morning!
Alternatively, live it up a little! |

After a good nights sleep,
the following morning you will begin your adventure into the vast
Baja peninsula. You will be riding 75 miles south along some of
the most spectacular scenery Baja has to offer. The trail will take
you through many stream crossings leading up to the majestic pine
forest surrounding Laguna Hansen Lake. From the lake you will continue
out of the mountains through the high desert to the small farming
town of Valle de Trinidad, where you will stop for fuel, lunch and
a rest!
The next 50 mile leg of your ride will take you across
Diablo dry lake bed, which is 10 miles long and "flat as a pancake"
and where, if you choose, you can ride flat-out! The last 40 miles
is wide open desert valleys nestled between numerous jagged mountains
leading to San Felipe, a small fishing town located on the Sea of
Cortez. This will complete your first days ride. San Felipe is known
for fish tacos, shrimp, cold cerveza's and endless miles of sandy
beaches. Your hotel is located on the beach, so don’t forget your
swim gear. The beach and pool are a welcome sight at the day's end! |
